According to Kentucky Office of Drug Control, Pike County ranks 6th in the state for overdose death rates based on the total cases over the last five years of statistics. Also the Opioid and Health Indicators Database lists Pike County as a vulnerable County for risk of HIV and Hepatitis C infections as a result of the opioid epidemic. Pike County is ranked 21st in the state for opioid abuse and addiction. This is one of the reasons we realize drug addiction is such a problem in our community. Another reason we know drug addiction is such a problem in our community is because almost every family is affected in one way or another by drug addiction.
